Can I use no-KYC crypto in the EU in 2026?

Yes. MiCA regulates service providers, not protocols. SEPA P2P on Bisq, Peach Bitcoin, RoboSats, or Hodl Hodl is the durable route. Privacy coins are legal to hold and transact.

MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation), in force across the EU since 2024-2025, regulates crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) — exchanges, custodians, brokers. It does not regulate the protocols themselves or peer-to-peer use. Holding and transacting Bitcoin or Monero peer-to-peer remains legal in every EU member state. The practical impact of MiCA on no-KYC users is that EU-domiciled exchanges enforce KYC at signup more strictly than they used to, and most have delisted privacy coins. Non-EU operators (MEXC, ChangeNOW, Trocador) continue to be accessible to EU users. SEPA Instant is the killer rail for EU-zone P2P trades — Bisq, Hodl Hodl, Peach Bitcoin, and RoboSats all support it well. See the country pages at /country/ for jurisdiction-specific notes.
